Dr. Patrick Wells
MBBS, Dip(Obst), RCOG
Trained at Adelaide uni – graduated MBBS 1978.
Then trained in anaesthetics, paediatrics, Gynaecology and obstetrics at the RAH, Queen Victoria Hospital & the Children’s hospital in Adelaide. I have a diploma of obstetrics & gynae from the Australian College of O & G. I have been in GP now for 35 years – I worked in Peterborough from 1981 to 1992 and since then at Nuriootpa.
Dr. Geoffrey Arthurson
MBBS, DA (UK), Dip (Obst), RCOG
Dr Geoff Arthurson joined the practice in 1985.
He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1978 and undertook 3 years of surgical training and also training in Obstetrics and Paediatrics in Adelaide before undertaking training in Anaesthetics in the UK to enable himself to use all those skills in rural General Practice.
Dr. Michael Hoopmann
MBBS, FRACGP, DRACOG
Born and raised in Adelaide, Michael worked in several Adelaide hospitals in various disciplines, before venturing to the country in 1984 to join the Nuriootpa Medical Centre. His main interests lie in obstetrics, anaesthetics, sports medicine and limited surgery (caesarean sections, vasectomies, skin grafts and flaps). He has 4 adult daughters. Outside interests include family, jogging, tennis and travel.
Dr. Jon Markey
Jon was born in South Australia, and trained at Adelaide University. He has worked in country general practice since 1991, and joined Nuriootpa Medical Centre in 2002. His interests include general and family practice, teaching, sports medicine and men's health. His is married to Robyn, a local teacher and artist, some of whose artwork is on view at the surgery. He has three sons and a recently acquired daughter-in-law. His personal interests include Church life, football, food, gardening, music, movies and travelling with his lovely wife.
Dr. Priya Murugiah
I am originally from Malaysia and completed my MBBS at University of Adelaide. I previously worked at Modbury and Lyell McEwin Hospital before commencing GP training. I have done a year of General Practice in the Riverland before coming to Nuriootpa Medical Center.
I enjoy all sorts of Medicine but do have an interest in Paediatrics.
