Dr. Michael Hoopmann
MBBS, FRACGP, DRACOG
Born and raised in Adelaide, Michael worked in several Adelaide hospitals in various disciplines, before venturing to the country in 1984 to join the Nuriootpa Medical Centre.
His main interests lie in obstetrics, anaesthetics, sports medicine and limited surgery (caesarean sections, vasectomies, skin grafts and flaps). He has 4 adult daughters.
Outside interests include family, jogging, tennis and travel.
Dr. Dipak Rao
Dr Dipak Rao has had over 13 years of experience in general practice. He obtained his medical degree, MD(Physician) at SAINT PETERSBURG PAVLOV STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY in 2004, where he graduated in the top 5% off his class. He has worked in several hospitals, in multidisciplinary settings, seeing a wide range of medical conditions before moving into private practice.
He has extensive experience treating chronic health conditions such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Asthma and COPD, Paediatric general practice, and minor surgical procedures. He has had significant experience treating rarer tropical infectious diseases.
Dr Rao is multilingual and fluent in English, Russian and Tamil.
He loves good food and a good laugh, his hobbies include Cricket, Tennis, Travel and Cooking.
He and his wife have settled in the Barossa Valley.
Dr. Chandima Perera

Dr. Chandima Perera is a caring and dedicated General Practitioner who migrated to Australia from Sri Lanka in 2013 after completing her MBBS and poststudy training.
After arriving in Australia, Dr. Perera gained Australian medical experience by working at Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals, as well as in both rural and metropolitan general practices. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2021 and continues to enjoy caring for patients in inner rural communities.
Dr. Perera enjoys all aspects of general practice and values the long-term therapeutic relationships she builds with her patients and their families. She is dedicated to continuing her professional development.
Outside of work, Dr. Perera loves spending time with her husband and two teenagers, exploring Adelaide’s beautiful trails, gardening, cooking traditional Sri Lankan dishes.

Dr. Kamalika Herath
MD SCHP DRANZCOG FRACGP
Special Interests: Womens Health, Contraception, Shared Care, Pediatrics, Minor Procedures, Mental Health, Mirena In/Out and Implanon In/Out.
Dr Kamalika Herath graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy in Russia in 2011. After completing her medical degree, she returned to her home country of Sri Lanka to begin her clinical career before relocating to Australia in 2016.
In Australia, Dr Herath has worked at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital, gaining valuable experience through a wide range of rotations including General medicine, Emergency medicine, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, Eating disorders, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics and gynaecology.
Dr Herath has a particular passion for women’s health, providing care across a broad spectrum from menstrual issues and contraception (including Implanon and IUD insertions) to perimenopause and menopause management. She is an accredited Shared Care GP for antenatal care.
Her professional interests also include weight management, chronic diseases, skin cancer and biopsies and mental health.
In her free time, she enjoys a good cuppa and the company of her family.
Dr Razbeen Shawket
Dr Shawket is a dedicated General Practitioner with over 11 years of experience in comprehensive primary care. For the past 5 years, she served the community through Kadina Medical Centre where she established strong therapeutic relationships and become an integral part of the rural healthcare landscape. Continuing with rural healthcare, Dr Shawket moved to Nuriootpa Medical Centre in January 2026.
With a genuine passion for rural practice, Dr Shawket values the close-knit community environment and the opportunity for deeper, more interactive connections with her patients. She has a strong special interest in chronic disease management, ensuring patients receive proactive, evidence-based, and personalised long-term care.
She has completed a Diploma in Procedural Skills for GPs and is a SHINE SA-listed Mirena provider, enabling her to deliver a range of women's health and procedural services within the practice.
Dr Shawket is committed to person-centred, holistic care, and strives to support her patients' wellbeing through every stage of life.
Dr Amaan Hasnani
Amaan completed his medical degree at PDU Medical College in India. He worked across multiple hospitals in India before relocating to Australia, where he gained experience working for two years at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital across a range of departments.
He is currently pursuing fellowship in general practice through the RACGP training program.
Amaan has a special interest in general medicine, preventive medicine, chronic metabolic diseases, and weight management.
Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through fitness, watching and playing cricket, catching up on movies, spending quality time with family, and never says no to a good cup of coffee.
Dr Fatima Hafeez
Dr Fatima Hafeez graduated in Pakistan and is now based in South Australia. Dr Hafeez has gained extensive experience in emergency medicine at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Service before transitioning to general practice. This background gives her a sharp, thorough approach to diagnosis and a calm manner with complex presentations.
Dr Hafeez has a particular interest in Chronic disease management, general medicine, mental health and women’s health.
Out of work, she enjoys travelling and discovering new eateries.
Dr Natasha Tham
BBiomed, MD
Dr Tash completed her Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne before completing her Doctor of Medicine at Flinders University in 2021. She worked at Lyell McEwin Hospital and a few years at Flinders Medical Centre, gaining experience across a range of specialties including General Medicine, Geriatrics, Respiratory, Cardiology and Nephrology. She then spent a year at Tumby Bay Medical, further developing her skills in Chronic Disease Management, Dermatology and Emergency Medicine.
Professional interests: Chronic disease management, including diabetes; women’s health, including Implanon insertion, contraception counselling and perimenopause/menopause management; dermatology and skin cancer; weight management; and preventative care.
Outside of work, Natasha enjoys spending time with her husband and dog named Max, camping, travelling and baking.
